This is a small platter made by Thomas G Booth Pottery of Staffordshire, England. The son of Thomas Booth Sr took over the business from his father and in 1876 began using the TGB trademark. This production period is dated from 1876-1883. The platter offered is brown transfer ware in the pattern Vase. In the center it features two Grecian style vases and boys carrying a large tray of grapes. The plate is in a rounded edge rectangular shape with molded handles at ends. It shows very little signs of use for pottery of this age. There is a bit of crazing on the back side in one area which is barely visible, and a few small scratches on the border in spots. The transfer patterns are not perfectly applied. See photos. No chips or cracks. The plate measures 10.5" wide x 9" tall. It will ship the same or next business day.
