Dates to 1954, so this handmade highest quality carbon steel knife — made in the Thiers district of France — is 72 years old.
Condition: Blade is sharp, shows little use, no pitting; wood handle secured with brass trivets with patina oxidation of brass and cracks on one side of the wood handle which don’t interfere with utility of this lightly used knife.
The “Chef au Ritz” is top of the line for Sabatier, forged by hand from a single piece of the highest quality steel.
Very rare versitile knife. Hand wash in warm water only. Sharpen with a hand knife sharpener only. Blade in excellent condition — see photos.
